Introduction to me
Hello! My name is Aristo Parqui. I am a student at the Technische Universiteit Delft in the Netherlands, currently in my first year of the Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Engineering. I am Dutch, but since the internet is mostly English-speaking, I do so too here.
From a very young age I was fascinated by nature and science (and also very much by music). At first I came in contact with the biology, then physics, and then when I was older, computers, which currently is one of my greatest fascinations. Just more than a year ago, I had to decide what to study. So I started Biology at the University of Leiden, but it did not take long to realise I wanted more challenge. I decided to re-learn all my mathematics from high school, in half a year, and register to study electrical engineering, which definitely is known for its challenges. I am now more than halfway through the first year, with ups and downs, but I am still here, and love the challenge still, every single day. It is my life now.
My future and the future
In one way I dream of becoming a scientist, and a good one. I wish to unravel great mysteries in the scientific world: our universe, nature, civilizations. I dream of writing books, after having done years of research on scientific interests. Maybe one day, I will become a teacher, a professor at a university (the TU Delft, or whatever). Even more maybe, I will win a Nobel Prize one day for my harsh efforts in the scientific world.
In another way, I dream of a very simple life, not having to do too much. No obligations. During that simple life, I dream of composing classical works, reading about science, writing about science, making music, and doing whatever I find fun. Making friends, whatever I want.
Despite this dream of freedom, I am aware that no universe provides success for free. I have to work hard, and investigate hard, each and every day, to pursue my dreamlife. That is life, and I love it, even though it can feel strugg-ly sometimes!
The idea behind this website
The idea behind the website, is a creative approach to my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. In making this website, I challenge myself to use my creativity and do more deeply research into the topics that I learn during the lectures. Before I made this website, I had quite a hard time studying sometimes, but once I started using this website as my own approach to studying, I came to the realisation that it is all a joke. I just do it all for myself, so this is my way of doing my studies!
18th century styling
Also to mention, I do not use many photographs on this website (as you can see on the image of myself), but I use AI-generated 18th century paintings from any image that I wish to have on my website. This is for styling purposes, but also for copyright purposes; the painting style contains no copyright (ChatGPT 4.1 generated), but often photographs do contain copyright. After all, it also provides me with privacy, as I do not wish to have much images of myself publicly on the internet (although the painting above does really resemble me). I hope you can resonate with my styling choices!
